Google Earth VR lets you explore our beautiful planet on the HTC Vive - bellreephy
As far as technical achievements go, looking at 360-degree photos in virtual reality is a pretty low barricade. Hell, you can do information technology on Google Cardboard, the VR tantamount of a toaster oven. And yet for completely its simplicity, digitally visiting places I've been before surgery hope to visit one sidereal day OR peradventur just undergo a momentaneous interest in cadaver one of my favorite VR activities.
So it power not be the flashiest release of the holiday flavour, but I was pretty worked up to see that Google Land VR discharged along Steam this morning, specifically for the HTC Vive. From the description:
"X years past, Google Earth began as an effort to help mass everywhere explore our planet. And now, with more than ii billion downloads, many wealthy person. Nowadays, we are introducing Google Earth VR as our next ill-trea to help the world see the world. With Earth VR, you can flee over a city, stand at the top of the highest peaks, and even soar into space."
Earth VR seems to lic best with large, well-known landmarks (some natural and man-made) since that's where Google put in the nearly work with the original program—Manhattan, Florence, the Eiffel Tug, the Matterhorn, and the Grand Canyon are specifically called out on Steam, among others.
Information technology looks impressive. The only disappointment at the import is that Google Street Opinion isn't included. Inclined that Street View utilizes 3D broad photos, VR seems like a natural fit. Hopefully extraordinary day information technology's added in.
For now though, Earth VR cements Google As ace of (weirdly enough) the Vive's top developers, with both this and Shift Brush being essential-see experiences. And better eventually, Earthly concern VR is free. Escape at that place and research.
